HOW TO APPLY FOR STUDENT VISA?

The process and the required document of applying for a visa vary for different country and different types of visa. Below are the process and the requirements specified for a student visa for studying in Hungary.

Step 1: Fill out the application form. The Application for Residence Permit and Appendix 14 shall be completed and printed. Click on it to download it or they can be found on the official embassy website.

Step 2: Prepare for the paperwork. Required document: Application Form Passport Passport sized photos Birth Certificate Proof of means of subsistence in Hungary: Letter of Award Proof of host university approval: Letter of Admission Proof of linguistic knowledge: Language Certificate Student Status Health Insurance Flight ticket (Optional)

*** Any document which is written in your language has to be translated into English. Step 3: Schedule your appointment. You can make the appointment through email if the embassy doesn't have it available online.

Step 4: Visit the embassy or consulate for the visa interview. Some sample questions that you might be asked: Why do you want to study in Hungary? What major did you choose? In which university or which city are you going to go to? How many universities did you apply for? What are they? When did you start applying for the study program? When did you get the result? When will you finish your study? What are your plans after graduation? Do you have relatives in Hungary? What do your parents do? What are their income? How many brothers and sisters do you have? What do they do? Who is going to responsible for your flight tickets? How much money do you get from your scholarship grant? When are you planning to go to Hungary?

After the interview, the visa process could take from 1 week to 4 weeks. Make sure to manage your schedule carefully. Good luck and see you in Hungary!
